Frequency Speed Drive Motors: VFD Engineering & Design Integrity

In modern heavy industries, the adoption of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) is key to energy conservation, process control, and motor longevity. However, driving standard induction motors via VFDs introduces severe electrical stresses, harmonic distortions, and heating challenges. Sunvim Motor designs high-performance variable-frequency-driven solutions designed to mitigate these phenomena, assuring reliable continuous operation.

Insulation Class & Corona Resistance

Repetitive, high dV/dt pulses generated by modern IGBT inverters can lead to voltage spikes and partial discharge inside motor windings. Our motors utilize Class F/H insulation systems treated with Vacuum Pressure Impregnation (VPI) and corona-resistant enamelled copper wire to prevent breakdown.

Forced Ventilation & Cooling (IC416)

Operating at low frequencies reduces the self-cooling capacity of standard shaft-driven fans. To counteract thermal build-up under constant-torque loads, Sunvim provides auxiliary-powered forced cooling systems (IC416) that guarantee continuous cooling independent of the rotor speed.

Bearing Current Mitigation

Common-mode voltages induced by VFD switching cycles can create electrical paths through the bearings, causing premature failure. We offer optional insulated non-drive end bearings and shaft grounding rings to safely divert parasitic currents and extend motor lifetime.

By eliminating rotor copper losses, these motors achieve energy savings under variable load conditions compared to standard induction machines.

Gaomi Electric Appliance Factory was established. In 1988, renamed Weifang Electric Machinery Factory, building foundational engineering expertise.

Year 1987

Mr. Sun, then the factory director, left Gaomi Electric Appliance Factory and set up Gaomi Towel Factory, the predecessor of Sunvim Group.

Year 2008

Weifang Electric Machinery Factory was acquired by Sunvim, and Shandong Sunvim Electrical Machinery Co. Ltd was established.

In 2022

A new state-of-the-art factory was completed in Sunvim Industrial Park, and the company was renamed Shandong Sunvim Motor Co., Ltd.
