Sunvim Motor
Highly optimized synchronous reluctance and induction motors designed to meet the rigorous operational standards of Peruvian mining, metallurgy, and water utilities.
The metropolitan region of Lima and Callao serves as the heartbeat of Peru's industrial economy, managing over 70% of the country’s manufacturing, food processing, chemical compounding, and mining corporate services. Due to Peru's unique terrain, modern mining corridors (extending from the high Andes to Callao Port shipping terminals) demand high reliability and extreme motor durability.
Furthermore, under national legislative frameworks aiming to improve energy efficiency, industrial installations in Peru face escalating energy tariffs during peak hours. In this context, standard low-efficiency induction motors are becoming costly liabilities. To offset these costs, Synchronous Reluctance Motors (SynRM) have emerged as the premier standard for engineers across Lima's major industrial zones, including Ate, Lurín, and Villa El Salvador.
Unlike conventional induction motors, SynRM units function without rotor cage losses or expensive rare-earth permanent magnets. This design provides maximum operational reliability and thermal stability under severe load variations. It offers an ideal energy-saving upgrade for pumps, industrial air compressors, cooling towers, and mineral processing mills.
Shandong Sunvim Motor Co., Ltd. - State-of-the-Art Core Punching and Assembly Plant.
The global electric motor industry is undergoing a shift driven by cost targets, decarbonization policies, and rare-earth supply volatility. Traditional induction motors (IM), while reliable, run with rotor losses caused by induced currents in the copper or aluminum rotor bars. Synchronous Reluctance Motors (SynRM) resolve this issue by combining the simple, rugged construction of an induction motor stator with a highly optimized, magnet-free rotor design.
The SynRM rotor is made of laminated steel with specialized air barriers cut into the profile. When the stator's rotating magnetic field interacts with the rotor, the rotor naturally aligns with the path of least magnetic reluctance. By controlling this reluctance field using advanced Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) with vector control, the motor generates continuous, highly efficient reluctance torque. Because the rotor lacks windings, squirrel cages, and permanent magnets, it generates virtually no heat during operation. This reduces bearing temperatures and extends insulation and lubrication life.
Standard motors struggle to maintain peak efficiency under partial loads. SynRMs, however, offer high efficiency across their entire speed and torque range. They easily meet and exceed IE5 Ultra-Premium Efficiency standards. For a plant in Lima operating large pumps 24/7, transitioning to IE5 SynRM technology can cut energy consumption by 8% to 15% compared to IE3 units, offering a fast return on investment.
